Description
Summary

One of the aims of our research is to study the structure of marine sand microbial communities, focusing mainly on ciliates. We study diversity, trophic interactions, blooms, succession, long and short term behaviour of populations and interactions with abiotic parameters. Other studies concern with Alcyonarians (mainly corallium rubrum) population (AGE) structure, population dynamics, recruitment and population genetic structure. Interspecific interactions and spatial distribution patterns are also examined for both groups.
