| Summary | 7 sediment samples were taken in the Gulf of Gaeta using a gravity corer in February, 1984. Microbial activity was measured in the surface layer (0-1 cm) of each sample using the resazurin reduction method. The organic and inorganic carbon content and the total nitrogen were also determined. In all cases, the samples were treated within 8-12 hours of the sampling. |
