Description 
Summary

Two experiments were carried out in the Central Ligurian Sea and in the Corsica Channel in the framework of the EUROMODEL program. Three current meter chains were deployed in the central part of the Ligurian Sea at the vertices of a triangle (side about 18 Km length). The chains were equipped with an Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) at about 350 m, followed by a series of Aanderaa current meters at greater depths. Vertical resolution of the ADCPs was 240 meters, working with 30 bins with nominal length of 8 meters. A further chain, equipped with an ADCP and Aanderaa current meters, was moored in the Corsica Channel to continue a long term survey started in 1985 (see other described data sets for details). E-W and N-S velocity components, pressure, temperature and conductivity time series were obtained by the records of the Aanderaa current meters. E-W, N-S and vertical velocity components, together with a time series of error velocity, and other parameters useful to check the quality of the recorded data, were obtained from the ADCPs, at depths regularly spaced.
