Description | |
Summary | The Stazione Oceanografica is participating in the EUROMODEL EEC-MAST program, aiming to define the circulation and the main phenomena of the Western Mediterranean. Two cruises were carried out in the Ligurian Sea in November 1990 and April 1991. A grid of 77 stations was programmed and performed in November 1990 and repeated during the cruise on April 1991. From the vertical profiles of temperature and conductivity, depth series of salinity and density were calculated at 1 meter depth intervals. The probe was equipped for measuring also vertical profiles of dissolved oxygen. Water samples were collected at standard depths and salinity and dissolved oxygen evaluated. These values were used to calibrate salinity and oxygen data. |
