Description
Summary

Current data were collected during the spring of 1981 (4 May - 4 June) and the autumn of 1982 (11-23 November) from two chains of Aanderaa current meters moored at depths of 30 and 100 meters respectively. The current meters, each with a sampling interval of 10 minutes, were deployed at depths of 16 and 25 metres on the first chain and at depths of 16, 50 and 95 metres on the second. A well exposed Aanderaa station assembled onshore near Mondragone during May 1981 provided the meteorological data. The sampling interval was 10 minutes. The atmospheric sensor did not work well. Spurious and/or degraded data were detected and eliminated and the resulting gaps removed by interpolation. Finally, a data set of current velocity and temperature time series, and meteorological parameters was obtained.
