Description
Summary

Current measurements were carried out at different times in the period between June 1976 and June 1977 confined at two shallow depths (10-45 meters) in 5 mooring positions. The periods of the recordings varied between 18 and 61 days. RCM4 Aanderaa current meters, equipped with a Savonius rotor and a magnetic compass, provided the speed and the direction of the water flow. The temperature and pressure sensors were a thermistor and a Bourdon tube driving a potentiometer respectively. The sampling rate was 10 minutes, the speed being integrated over this interval. The direction, temperature and pressure were recorded instantaneously every 10 minutes. Spurious and/or degraded data were detected and eliminated and the resulting gaps removed by interpolation. A data set consisting of velocity and water temperature time series was obtained.
