| Summary | The survey was organized in the framework of the Italian Expedition to Antarctica 1990-1991, which was an extensive research programme encompassing various geophysical, biological and geological aspects of Antarctica seen as a complex ecosystem. In particular this data set covers a series of hydrographic sections throughout the Ross sea. Measurements performed were mainly CTD profiles; a number of water samples were also collected in order to study the characteristics of suspended matter. From temperature and conductivity, salinity and density values were obtained, and data were averaged over each decibar. Standard meteorological observations complete the station records. |
