| Summary | Single congeners of PCBs were determined in superficial sediments of the Adriatic sea at 27 stations (one sample per station): concentrations were significantly higher in front of the river Po mouth than in other coastal areas and in open sea. The PCBs profile in the gas-chromatograms of sediments collected in open sea indicates that the distribution is in favour of less chlorinated compounds. |
