Description
Summary

The CTD data were collected in the framework of the Magellan Project during the first cruise carried out in the austral spring, from 31 October to 14 November 1989. The aim of this survey was to study, with an interdisciplinary approach, the sedimentology of the Strait of Magellan; the study was also extended to cover hydrological and hydrobiological features. The original CTD data were quality controlled, analyzed and worked up by OGS. The high resolution vertical profiles of each station were averaged over 1 dbar pressure intervals, when the CTD was lowered. The salinity has been computed according to the practical salinity scale of 1978. The averaged data are stored as depth series per station.
