Description
Summary

The microzooplankton and mesozooplankton distribution was analyzed in different conditions of thermohaline stratification in the framework of the multidisciplinary monitoring program of the Adriatic Sea scheduled to determine the current state of the ecosystem and pollution in relation to its basic hydrological features and dynamics. The original data were controlled, analyzed and worked up by the originator who holds the principal quality control responsibility. The zooplankton stations were occupied during 5 seasonal cruises. 2 hydrographic surveys were concerned with the summer of 1983 and 1984; 2 the autumn of 1979 1989; 1 the spring of 1983. All cruises were concerned with the Northern Adriatic (4 transects), whereas the cruises spring 1983, summer 1983 and autumn 1983 comprise also the transect Pescara-Sibenik in the Middle Adriatic. The data are stored per station, cruise and zooplankton fraction. The data set comprises about 60 stations of net-zooplankton and 28 stations of microzooplankton. The samples for microzooplankton analysis have been collected three levels. The data are supplied by: Dipartimento di Biologia, Universita' di Trieste;
