Description
Summary

Study is designed to measure whether changes in soil structure and infauna occur due to cultivation of Manila clams in the intertidal zone. Component parts include a one year study on soil and its infauna prior to deposit of clams, a 2-3 year study on changes while clams are growing to market size, and a 1 year study on recovery of ground after harvesting of clams. Study area measures 35m by 15m and comprises three treatments (control area, net covered area, net covered area with clams) and three replications in a 3 by 3 Latin square design.
