Observations | |
Parameters | Radioactivity in biota; Fish morphology, age and physiology; Fish abundance in water bodies; Fish taxonomy-related abundance per unit area of the bed; Fish taxonomy-related counts; Stable isotopes in biota; Litter abundance and type; Particulate metal concentrations in the water column; Salinity of the water column; Temperature of the water column; Stable isotopes in water bodies; Metal concentrations in biota |
Instruments | Pelagic trawl nets; discrete water samplers; salinity sensor; elemental analysers |
Description | |
Summary | Surveys were primarily designed to determine the distribution and abundance of groundfish, to monitor environmental parameters and to obtain information on radiobiological pollution. The grid comprises 73 trawl positions. Temperature and salinity observations are taken at each trawl position. This survey is a continuation of the CEFAS NSGFS survey using a different gear and is part of an ICES co-ordinated programme. |
