Description
Summary

The survey consists of 57 stations on the main sole grounds in the English waters of the western English Channel. There has been one vessel change (1989) at the same time as the gear change. The objective is to provide fisheries-independent abundance indices of all age-groups of sole and plaice which are used by the assessment working groups to 'tune' the VPA and to estimate recruitment. Data are collated on other fish species.
