Summary

Investigation of the possible effect of mussel seed fishery on the benthic communities of the Dutch Wadden Sea, large scale sampling using sediment dredges was conducted in various sites distributed throughout the area. Each site was divided into two adjacent sampling stations, one open to fishing activity and the other closed to fishing. All organisms found in the samples were identified and recorded both before and after fishing had taken place during both Spring and Autumn.
