Description
Summary

The survey on subsurface currents conducted outside Mellieha Bay forms part of the study to identify the general phenomenology of the hydrodynamics along the northwestern coastal area of the Maltese Islands. The dataset at Ahrax Station runs from Summer 1992 to Summer 1994, with interruptions. Two current meters (one in mid-column position and the other close to the bottom) were deployed initially ( August 1992 - February 1993); subsequent measurements were taken by one instrument at mid-depth position. These measurements were taken together with those at Qawra station for the same period of time.
