Description
Summary

The permanent sea level installation is positioned at the head of Mellieha Bay which is a small embayment on the northwestern coast of Malta. The sensor is clamped inside a small stilling well connected to the sea. The instrument measures absolute pressure; atmospheric pressure is compensated by means of a vented tube. The instrument samples sea level and temperature at 1-minute or 2-minute intervals. The measurements are intended to study seiche oscillations, sea level variability as well as to determine long term sea level changes.
