Sediment grabs; rock dredges
The macrobenthic assemblages of the sedimentary bottoms off the Northeastern coast of Malta were studied during the summer of 1993. Grab and dredge samples were collected from depths of 21 to 75m from an area of approximately 48 square km off Comino, Mellieha Bay and St. Paul's Bay. The data set consists of a description of the species recorded during the study with the aid of 3 species list: 1. A list of 19 macroalgae and 1 phanerogams 2. A list of 107 macrofaunal species 3. A List of 122 species of molluscs (gastropods and bivalves) that occurred as empty shells.
