Summary | British Petroleum (BP) facilities in Supsa are supplied with domestic water from the wells located in 8-10km from the site, at premises of Mtis Broli, Ureki village. Objective of the audit was to evaluation of entire process of water provision from abstraction of waster (abstraction of the water, transportation, unloading, suitability, conditions and suitability of the road tankers for carrying domestic water), checking hygiene conditions, licenses, competence of drivers and other personnel (availability of training, routine treatment of tanks, etc). Possibility for the use of Poti municipal water supply as alternative source of water provision to the BP site in Supsa was considered. Water quality, state of boreholes, state of protection zones water collecting systems was estimated. Recommendations for water intake systems functioning were given, of the water quality, state of water supply systems were investigated. Validity of results provided by microbiological lab of Poti (in particular results of microbiological testing) was checked. Samples from water supply system were collected for sanitary and microbiological analysis. The state of maintenance and suitability of the road tanks was checked. According to results of chemical analysis the main components and sanitary characteristics are in the limits of WHO guidelines. |
