Description
Summary

The researches are carried out in frames of Georgian National Scientific Foundation grant “GNSF/ST07/5-206 Study of geochemistry of the Georgian sector of the Black Sea and pollutants accumulation dynamics”. Objective of the project is the study of fundamental sedimentological, geochemical and ecological issues; study of environmental conditions in the catchments areas of the rivers of the Black Sea basin with the view of an impact imposed on the marine environment; assessment of the nature, sources and risks of the man-caused impact on the sea environment, investigations of sea water and bottom sediments of Georgian sector of the Black Sea. By work plan of the project, the hydrochemical investigation of sea waters is realized. Essential hydrochemical parameters: salinity, pH, dissolved oxygen content, turbidity is measured. 88 samples of sea water have been taken and analyzed during the field works. Maps of distribution of studded components are created using the GIS-programs. Conductivity of sea water is determined in situ by oxygen meter SensION 156.
