Northeastern shelf area of the Black Sea. Surface of the sea along 34 tracklines set perpendicular to the shore line at regular 10-km intervals in the shelf area, with depths of 0-200 m.

Altimeters

Project: Aerial surveying the distribution, abundance and species composition of cetaceans in Russian and Ukrainian waters of the Black and Azov Seas (Azovka-2002). Sightings of cetaceans: harbour porpoises (Phocoena phocoena relicta), common dolphins (Delphinus delphis ponticus) and bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus ponticus). Sampling equipment: GPS, clinometers, airborne altimeters, polarizing sunglasses, watches. Sample treatment: Distance 3.5 (produced by the Research Unit for Wildlife Population Assessment, University of St. Andrews, UK)
