Description | |
Summary | The bottom sediments are the substantial object in the Latvian marine geology archives. As a result of marine geological survey of the Gulf of Riga a significant number of geological samples or cores were collected by coring devices or sampling instruments. The metadata of these sampling activities are available in a local database "Access ecobank.mdb" with position, date, platform, instrument etc. The acquired samples were further analysed in the laboratory using different analyses such as zoobenthos analysis, hydrochemical analysis of near-bottom layer of water, atomic-absorption analysis etc. The results of each of these analyses have stored in a separate table of local database referring to the same metadata of the field sampling. The comprehensive landscape-geoecological investigation were based on the materials of marine geological mapping and the results of the special study of zoobenthos and hydrochemical conditions |
