Description
Summary

Meteorological observations made at fixed points (e.g. light vessels, Ocean Weather Ships, offshore platforms) and stored in chronological order. Time series are updated with recent data once per year. Beginning in 1991 the UK Meteorological Office has deployed a network of fixed-site open-ocean buoys in waters around the west of the British Isles (12 to 15 degrees West) and at two sites in the North Sea. Most reports are available at 3 hourly intervals.
