A range of data sets are combined into a single module, including national inventories of sand dunes, saltmarshes, estuaries, cliffs, shingle sites; also a map derived data set of the areas and lengths of 'coastal resources' by 10km square. Some of the data are still in the course of validation and the data sets are being remodelled into a new structure. Data can be downloaded into the UK Digital Marine Atlas (UKDMA). Data were collected in a variety of projects from 1982 (saltmarsh survey and 'coastal resources') up to 1992 (sand dunes) under contract to NCC (now JNCC). These give an overall picture of GB coastal habitat distribution, although quality and parameters of data sets vary.
