CTD

The CTD data were collected in the framework of an international scientific co-operation aimed to evaluate the status of the transient flow in the Eastern Mediterranean, which affects the deep and intermediate circulation, and its impact on the marine ecosystem. The CTD stations were occupied in 1999 during a synoptic experiment carried out with R/V Meteor (M44/2 cruise, 10/04/1999-16/05/1999) and R/V Urania, internationally coordinated and covering the whole above mentioned area, and in 2001 during a R/V Meteor cruise (M51/2, 18/10/2001-11/11/2001) with the following distribution: M44: grid of 59 CTD casts performed at 35 different station positions in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea; Urania: 31 station positions in the Ionian Sea; M51: grid of 61 CTD casts performed at 44 different station positions in the Eastern, Central and Western Mediterranean Sea.
