Description
Summary

POMOS is an observing system located in the ports (14 measuring sites, 45 instruments, and 14 weather and sea state parameters). Designed to provide weather and sea state operational information for the areas of major Bulgarian ports (Varna, Burgas and Balchik) and intended to secure safety shipping in the ports, canals and bays. The dataset contains a variety of atmospheric measurements, including time series of air temperature, wind speed and direction, precipitation and humidity as well as some oceanographic parameters -water temperature, salinity, sea-level and currents. The time series have been collected since 2009. The data are held by BgODC as a database.
