Description
Summary

A series of 7 floating moored acoustic receivers have been installed in Lough Feeagh to monitor fish depth and geographic movements in the lake. Data parameters collected include Date Tag Inserted, Location, Tag Number, Floy Tag No., Sex, Length (cm), and Comments. The following parameters are collected for analysis: following parameters will be used to analyse the data: Temperature, Depth, Day of the year, Time of the day, Type (wild / ranch), Individual (localized by transmitter), Area (identified by the station that received a set of detections), and Sex. Lough Feeagh is located in Co. Mayo Ireland in a catchment that feeds into Clew Bay. Data has been gathered since 2009. Acoustic tags have been inserted into sample fish and the pilot acoustic monitoring programme tracks the movement of salmon. Salmon tracking occurs with both wild and ranched fish. Salmon tagging supports the monitoring of fish behaviour within the catchment. Data collected and managed by the Newport facility of the Marine Institute (Ireland). Data completed for the period since 2009.
