| Summary | Time series of Picoplankton abundance and community composition collected with a monthly frequency at 0.5, 5, 10 and 15 meters in the Gulf of Trieste time series station (station C1) between 2000 and 2005. Heterotrophic cell abundance is determined after staining with DAPI according to the method described by Porter and Feig (1980). Autotrophic cell abundance is determined according to Waterbury et al., 1979, by photosynthetic pigment autofluorescence. |
