Description
Summary

In the Dutch/German Ems the ecological development can be followed by monitoring the fish populations. The area has a nursery function for young fish and is a transition zone for migratory fish. Sampling is carried out by anchor net. The sampling is part of the Water Framework Directive fish monitoring for Rijkswaterstaat and is carried out in collaboration with Germany. The study encompasses fishing at 3 measuring stations in the oligohaline, mesohaline and polyhaline zone by means of stow nets both in spring (May) and in autumn (September).
