Description
Summary

This dataset contains measurements of oxygen isotopes (d18O) collected from the underway towed fish deployed from the RRS Discovery. It also contains the percent contribution of meteoric water, sea ice melt, and Atlantic Water, which was derived from d18O and salinity. The samples were collected at two-hour intervals in the Barents Seas and cover the fresher water on the Spitzbergen Bank. The data were collected at approximately 3 metres depth between the 1st and the 5th of August 2023 during cruise DY167 (GEOTRACES cruise GApr19). The oxygen isotopes were measured on an Isoprime 100 mass spectrometer plus Aquaprep device following the CO2 equilibration method. The percent contributions were calculated from d18O and salinity using a three-endmember mass balance. This dataset was generated by the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) under Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) Grant Reference NE/W004933/1. The data are archived at the British Oceanography Data Centre (BODC).
