Description
Summary

This dataset consists of physical data produced by the NEMO global ocean model, simulations produced monthly output provided at 1 and 0.25 degree horizontal resolution for four experiments: (i) interannual momentum flux forcing, (ii) interannual buoyancy flux forcing, (iii) fully interannually forced control (IAF), and (iv) repeat-year forcing (RYF). The dataset is the global ocean model output for the years 1958-2023. This dataset was produced to investigate Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) variability driven by either momentum or buoyancy flux forcings, and its sensitivity to model resolution. Model outputs were generated by scientists at the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) under the Advancing the Long-range Prediction, Attribution, and forecast Calibration of the Amoc and its climate impacts (ALPACA) project funded by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) under reference NE/Y005279/1.
