This dataset contains pH, temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, and tidal height data from a 6-month sensor comparison study at the National Oceanography Centre (Southampton, U.K.) harbour pontoon from June-December 2023. The technology assessment was undertaken to understand long-term performance of state-of-the-art oceanographic pH sensors, and to demonstrate how drifting/offset pH data can be corrected by using data from an independent, accurate in-situ pH sensor. The processed pH data are provided, taking into account the known salinity and temperature. The raw pH optode data are also provided for transparency. The data correction method applied to the raw pH optode dataset is outlined in full in the published paper, and the processed optode data deposited is for the 24-hr correction interval. The data were collected under funding from the Horizon Europe TRIDENT project (grant agreement ID 101091959), and Natural Environment Research Council projects CLASS (grant reference NE/R015953/1) and AtlantiS (NE/Y005589/1).
