Summary

The data set comprises Burial Assessments Charts, each consisting of four boxes containing, for a 1km wide corridor: i) detailed bathymetry ii) results of sidescan sonar showing seabed sediments iii) a section showing the sub-bottom profile along the proposed route iv) an indication of the sediment thicknesses within the corridor, not always available v) tensions experienced by the Burial Assessment Tool vi) penetration achieved by the Burial Assessment Tool vii) any other relevant data (such as steep seabed slopes, bedforms seen during the survey, etc.) This survey was carried out during 1992 along the Scotland to Northern Ireland No.2 Cable Route from Girvan, Scotland to Larne, Northern Ireland.
