Description 
Summary

The data set comprises current meter data collected for a variety of projects. These are outlined briefly below: 1. North Rockall Trough. Data gathered by IOS, in water depths of between 1100m and 1600m, between July 1978 and March 1982. 2. Rockall Channel. Data gathered by DML in water depths of between 1000m and 2000m, between May 1979 and October 1981. 3. OSCR data from the Firth of Lorne (March 1984), Pembrokeshire (August 1984) and Kintyre (October and November 1984). OSCR equipment operated by RAL, comparison current meter data collected by DML. 4. Celtic Sea. Data gathered by IOS, between August and October 1985. 5. Southern North Sea. Data gathered by SMBA (DML) between June 1985 and March 1986, and between November 1986 and July 1987. Data comprise several separate deployments. In addition, wind data are available from West Sole WA Platform (53° 42'N, 001° 09'E) between 01 June 1978 and 31 October 1988, gathered by BMT Fluid Mechanics.
