Sediment grabs

The aim of the study was to ascertain the biological significance of the macrofauna near the shore at Killyleagh, which may be influenced by development works in the locality. The information was used in an environmental impact assessment of the planned project. Triplicate grab samples (0.1 square metre) were collected at nine stations near Killyleagh. Analysis to species level was undertaken in a quality controlled laboratory. Data are presented in two spreadsheets, one related to abundance information, the other pertaining to biomass data. Intertidal and terrestrial flora and fauna information are also available.
