Geographical area | 3 sites in the Tay estuary (Flisk, Balmerino and Broughty Castle) |
Observations | |
Parameters | Fauna abundance per unit area of the bed; Mineral chemistry; Redox potential in sediment; Concentration of other organic contaminants in sediment samples; Concentration of organic matter in sediments; Zoobenthos taxonomic abundance; Zoobenthos taxonomy-related counts; Zoobenthos generic abundance; Carbon concentrations in sediment; Inorganic chemical composition of sediment or rocks |
Instruments | Sediment grabs |
Description | |
Summary | At the three sites, five grab samples (0.1m**2 Day grab) were taken and sieved on-board for analysis of fauna. The samples were taken from mid- channel. Accompanying samples were taken for sediment chemistry analysis. |
