Description 
Summary

a) 1989: Four inter-tidal transects and two low water mark transects were established on mudflats near Guardbridge, using 37 sampling points. Two cores (10cm diameter, 20cm depth) were taken at most sites except on inter- tidal transects where five cores were taken at mid-shore and low water mark points. At such points, sediment samples for organic content (loss-on- ignition) were taken. Sediments were sieved on site (1mm mesh). b) 1992: Ten of the 1989 low water mark sites were revisited and two cores taken as described in a) above.
