Description
Summary

Halcrow were appointed in 1999 by Aberdeen City Council, Scottish Natural Heritage and Grampian Enterprise Ltd to undertake a coastal protection study of Aberdeen Bay. The study provides accurate predictions of beach and dune evolution in Aberdeen Bay for the next 25 years, identifying particular problem areas with respect to these changes and current land use. A range of management options were also provided:
* Used existing wave and water level data and other coastal data
* Meeting held with client parties and other relevant organisations to obtain further background and information
* DAWN modelling to investigate potential sediment movement
* Wave transformation modelling of offshore waves approaching shore
* Beach plan shape modelling
* Beach profile modelling
* Modelling of options for future coastal protection
