Description
Summary

Survey Methods: A hand-held Geographical Positioning System was used to determine the co-ordinates and altitude of the biotopes, alongside aerial photographs. Purpose: To develop a biotope mapping methodology and use this to produce a map of the rocky shore and analyse the data on a GIS package. Alto to assess the timescale and costings, field test HIS, develop a technique of mapping Sabellaria reefs and compile a reference collection of algae. Potential: To act as a guideline for future surveys of this king. Limits: Time was limited due to organising project. Also, survey was further inhibited by the tide times as surveying could only be carried out at low tide.
