Survey Methods Peterkens woodland survey methods were used by both teams from DTNC and STNC. The survey was carried out between 5 and 9 August. Purpose a) to identify the areas of woodland along coastal stretches of Exmoor not included in the 1981 STNC survey report; b) to describe the ecological features of those woodlands not previously surveyed; c) to procure information already gathered by woodland owners and other bodies and to provide an overall assessment of the coastal woodlands as a baseline for further investigations.
