Survey carried out by MAFF from August to September 1975 in the Fal Estuary/Fal Bay area. Purpose was to study the maerl bearing sediments in the area and to obtain information for the assessment of the marine environmental implications of maerl extraction, including the effects on fisheries. Survey of 163 grab stations and 24 core samples. Species recorded including Mollusca, Polychaeta, Crustacea, Echinodermata (species on computer database). Also gives details about the possible effects of extraction.
