Description | |
Summary | ARC, Actions de Recherche Concertees. The 'concerted action' was launched by the Belgian Department of Scientific Policy in 1977. In contrast with the Belgian 'Project Sea', there was no central coordination. The mode of funding was also different. The project was aiming at the deepening of the study of the marine ecosystem components and fluxes - including the cycle of pollutants. The various research teams took advantage of the monitoring program of the recently established MUMM or planned specific cruises in concertation with MUMM. |
