Description
Summary

Since 1996 all vessels that extract sand or gravel on the Belgian continental shelf are obliged to be equipped with a data registration system ( a so called 'black box'). Position, speed of the vessel and sand extraction pump status are stored on SRAM card. The data of these black boxes are transferred on regular basis to MUMM Oostende for analysis and storage.
