Cruise Inventory Information

Long name RRS Challenger (74CH) cruise CH9B/80
Short name CH9B/80
Objectives and Narrative The objectives of this cruise were:
(1) To service the current meter mooring at 57N, 9W. Accomplished.
(2) To redeploy the current meter mooring at 57 deg 17 min N, 10 deg, 21 min W. Accomplished.
(3) To service the IOS Bidston tide gauge mooring at 57 deg 14 min N, 10 deg 4 min W. Mooring recovered.
(4) To measure temperature, salinity and dissolved oxygen at stations on the Scottish continental shelf. A CTD grid comprising four E-W sections from 56.5N to 58N to the west of the Hebrides, with the southernmost section extending further east as far as Mull.
(5) To measure chlorophyll concentrations in surface water along-track and at stations on the Scottish continental shelf. Accomplished with stations on the CTD grid.
(6) To collect large volume surface water samples for radiocaesium analysis at standard stations across the Scottish shelf. Accomplished
