Objectives and Narrative |
This cruise was the last of a series of six aimed at defining the nature of the processes occurring at the shelf edge, their seasonal variability and their impact on fluxes of nutrients and carbon across the shelf and into the seabed sediments. Specific objectives included:
1) Survey of the slope current along the slope to complement time series observations by current meter and adcp. 2) Observation of the internal tide generated at the shelf edge, its propagation and dissipation. 3) Completion of the sampling programme of seabed sediments by coring over the seasonal cycle. 4) Final survey of T/S structure, nutrients, pigments and production in the SES box. 5) Recovery of the SES mooring array. |
