Objectives | Aims
To investigate the effect of a given pressure gradient (bottom trawls) on infaunal community characteristics. To conduct a bathymatric survey mapping the extent of Annex I reef habitat at the Haig Fras site of community importance. Aims 1. To acquire 100% coverage of designated areas of the Prawle Point to Plymouth Sound SAC with Multibeam swath bathymetry in partnership with NE. 2. Identify areas of high and low fishing pressure within the JNCC primary sampling area using acoustic techniques and undertake a grab sampling survey. 3. Acoustic and underwater camera survey at Haig Fras in partnership with JNCC. 4. Survey alternative JNCC sampling areas dependant on weather and/or lack of success at primary sampling area. Cruise Plan The vessel will then proceed to the Haig Fras SAC and undertake an acoustic and underwater video survey (Aim 3).
