ObjectivesNW Irish Sea Nephrops stocks
1. To trawl selected stations sampled during earlier cruises and perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of catches.
2. To retain stomachs of selected fish species of future analysis.
3. To carry out underwater video and 'stills' photography at selected stations during both day and night conditions.
4. To retain samples of Nephrops and fish liver for analysis of heavy metal and organic residue levels.
5. Sample benthic sediment for granulometric and chemical analysis.
6. To collect surface water CTD mapping data for ASRD's Biological Oceanography Programme .
7. To retain samples of Nephroops for a FACRD project.

Biology and fisheries 
Sediment trapsQuantity: number of measurements = 3
Description: Tows took place and sediment samples were taken before and after each tow. It was also noted that the Nephrops catches improved in the twilight tow.

Description: Sledge and camera deployed for tow 7. Poor catch at tow 7 and no catch at tow 8

Description: Tows took place and sediment samples were taken before and after each tow. It was also noted that the Nephrops catches improved in the twilight tow.

Description: Tow 14 provided a good haul, the tow was filmed. Tow 15 was over simular ground to that of 14. However tows 16 and 17 were slightly sw to the previous tows.

Description: Nephrops were filmed using the underwater camera. Tows 4 and 6 were then trawled.

Description: Over tow 11 there was a good catch and using the camera and sledge an excellent view was produced or the Nephrops' burrows. Tow 12 provide a large catch, but due to deteriorating weather tow 13 was the last of the day.

Description: Tows 9 and 10 were more successful in the deeper waters.
