Objectives1) Faroe-Shetland hydrographic lines
2) Fish-environmenatl survey of Faroe Bank and Faroe Plateau
3) Ornithological studies for Aberdeen University (cancelled)
4) Guff III samples were taken for dry weight determination only; no species analysis was attempted
5) Stomach samples were collected from all species obtained from trawling, from a wide size range of each species and on an area basis.
6) A record of the amount of dead shells was made and a representative sample was kept for Dr J Wilson of the National Institute of Oceanography

Objective 3 was cancelled because Dr W R P Bourne was detained due to pressure from other work. A brief visit was made to Thorshavn where packages of deep-frozen sea-birds were picked up for Dr Bourne on the 27/08/1971. Owing to further strong winds, only 3 of the 6 trawl stations on Faroe Bank were worked
