ObjectivesSurveyed sailed to mooring 090 and the command pinger was released. The buoy surfaced and was recovered. The subsurface sphere was grappled from the well deck and the mooring attached to the winch and was hauled in. The mooring was then serviced and relaid 1/2 mile east of the 090 position as mooring 091. Course was set to the position of mooring 088. The command pinger was transmitted but there was no response and therefore assumed that the buoy had been lost so dragged for the mooring instead. Many attempts to drag for mooring 088 were unsuccessful, however, accurate fixes were made and 088 mooring was located and eventually recovered. The replacement mooring 092 was laid in 1000m of water west of the 088 position. Also, a line of 8 bottle stations across the continental shelf were undertaken and tested moorings 075, 084 and 091 to see if they have working pingers. Surveyor also sailed to deep water to test a command pinger with a new discriminator circuit.
