| Objectives | To collect ovaries from sole for fecundity estimation and studies on atresia.
To carry out a pre-recruit flatfish survey in the Bristol Channel. To sample bass eggs, larvae and adults and investigate spawning behaviour. To deploy sea surface drifters in a bass spawning focus to follow the dispersal of spawning products. To incubate bass eggs at a range of temperatures for development studies. To carry out a plankton survey in the western English Channel and in the Shingle Bank area to assess the distribution and abundance of edible crab larvae. |
