Objectives | AIMS
1. To recover and deploy SmartBuoy moorings at the West Gabbard and Warp and collect calibration samples (AE004). 2. Recover an ADCP frame at West Gabbard (AE004) 3. Deploy lander and Dan buoy at Southwold 4. Collect water samples at other sites as time allows (AE004) PLAN (all times are Greenwich Mean Time) Sailed from Lowestoft on the morning tide 13th February (05:30) and proceeded to Southwold to deploy lander and Dhan buoy at 08:51. Steamed to the West Gabbard SmartBuoy site. Collected CTD profile prior to recovery (on hydro wire). Recovered the SmartBuoy at 11:59. After lunch there was an incident with the side winch (near miss form completed, investigation into cause underway). Recovered the ADCP frame at 14:30 then deployed the SmartBuoy at 15:40. Collected a water sample alongside the SmartBuoy using the continuous flow. Collected continuous flow water samples every hour en route to the Warp SmartBuoy site, arrived 20:10 and anchored overnight. Started work 08:00. Collect a continuous flow sample prior to recovery of SmartBuoy at 08:34 and deployment of new SmartBuoy at 09:15. Returned to Lowestoft for evening tide (docked 18:30). |
